I think I must know Alejandro for over a decade by now. I started to play for the legendary chess club Gros from San Sebastian in 2004 and Alejandro followed shortly after. Together with Inigo and Santi he formed the heart of our team. I have to be honest with you, probably I know Alejandro better off than on the board and that might sound weird, since I have been sitting for over a decade practically next to him! Now he has written this book it has forced me to do some investigation and to dig into my memory. And yes it seems that Alejandro loves having his bishop on b7 (and g2), and yes his score there is excellent.
To me Alejandro seemed to be always very prepared, actually, he was the only one of my Spanish teammates who was constantly asking me (chess) questions He was also always searching for the truth, this is a good method to improve your game of chess but Alejandro also had a habit of overdoing it, which was causing horribble timetroubles and even more nervous teammates! The good news is however, for writing a good opening book, this is definetly a blessing. I know for a fact that Alejandro has put a lot of work in the project, so all you have to do is read, understand it and execute it! I am afraid it’s simplier said than done, but anyway you shoud go for it!
